Poland Advances Crypto Legislation Amid EU Regulatory Push
Poland's parliament has resurrected a cryptocurrency bill vetoed earlier this year, voting 241-183 to advance legislation aligning with the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. The revived proposal moves to the Senate unchanged despite President Andrzej Duda's prior concerns about threats to personal freedoms and state stability.
The legislation positions Poland to meet the EU's 2026 deadline for crypto regulatory harmonization. Lawmakers emphasized urgency, noting the bloc's accelerating efforts to standardize digital asset rules across member states. This comes as European regulators intensify scrutiny of crypto markets following recent volatility in major tokens like BTC and ETH.
